Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival

We are all about communiTEA here in Fishy!

The Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival is held every two years. The festival aims to celebrate the nurturing and welcoming nature of the town, the creativity and resourcefulness of its residents and its ability to blend traditional and new ways of doing things. Held over nine days, the feature event of the festival is the Tea Cosy Competition. Entries are exhibited every day and include traditional and whimsical tea cosies that have been crafted using a range of media depending on the imagination and ingenuity of the artist. Other events include High Tea, Market Day, tea appreciation, Devonshire Teas, craft workshops and artistic performances, which showcase the many talents of the community.

Local community groups will be presenting everybody’s favourite, Devonshire Teas, in the Hall each weekend of the festival and Fish Creek art galleries and cafes will be offering extra attractions throughout the festival.

The Fish Creek Community Composter is presenting a Composting and Making Weed Tea workshop on Saturday 14 May and Buckley Park Community Farm is hosting a morning tea and garden walk on Tuesday 17 May.

The Biggest Morning Tea returns to the Fish Creek Hotel on Thursday 19 May to raise funds for the Cancer Council.

High Tea at the Fish Creek Bowls Club on 22 May will be a festival highlight. The renowned South Gippsland Hospital Auxiliary is organising this event and all profits go to the hospital. Bookings essential.

Check out the full Festival Program for more info on these events.
