Victoria, Australia
The Cottage is situated on the Great Alpine Road, and has a Heritage Overlay. It is more than 150 years old and forms a significant part of the history of life in the town in days gone by. It has been lovingly restored using much of the original timber that was milled locally as well as a clever use of the original exterior cladding of the building which has been repurposed and now features in the interior of the cottage.Â
The Cottage sits handsomely towards the front of a large private block that is currently being developed into a food garden that guests are welcome to use. The newly planted fruit trees include apples, pears, plums peaches, finger limes, citrus, grapes, passionfruit and olives. The raised vegetable garden beds grow seasonal produce.Â
The Cottage provides a fully functional kitchen with a fridge, an oven, a hob and a microwave. For a bit of entertainment, a Smart TV comes with Netflix, and guests can also appreciate conveniences, such as a coffee/tea maker and a dishwasher.
The Cottage is walking distance to the CBD. Even closer, is the Mitchell River with its spectacular river walking paths. Enjoy a walk or relax in beautiful Howitt Park on the banks of the river.
